Jean Debardi

Jean Debardi has been a volunteer at Merica House since 1995, carefully doing the grocery and supply shopping for the residents. She can be found there once a week filling a list of wants and needs tailored by and for the residents.

Her background as a food service production manager at several Fairfax County schools, as well as her training for that job, make her especially suited for the task. She discusses food choices with the residents and tries to take advantage of seasonal produce to keep them happy and healthy.

In her extremely busy "other" life, she has 6 children, 10 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. She also works part time at a local Wal-Mart in the fabric department — a position well suited to her hobbies of sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She likes to exercise and participated this past spring in a 3 mile walk to raise money for a cancer cure. And if that weren’t enough, she helps with her daughter’s window treatment business. Our thanks go out to Jean for her continued, invaluable service.
