LaRue Wright

Hello everyone, my name is LaRue and I'm a 40 year old quadriplegic. I suffered my disability in a car accident where as I was sleeping in a car and was not wearing my seat belt. I strongly suggest to everyone to buckle up while traveling because one single moment can alter your life forever. After my injury I had about ten months of rehab at a state rehab facility in Virginia. Then I returned home to live with my mother and stepfather. My first day home was very sad and depressing. I felt so helpless and just burst into tears. With the help of my family and friends, I slowly became ajusted to my new world. My family now resides in North Carolina, however, I knew that was not where I wanted to live.

I like the Northern Virginia area and started looking for a place that would meet my needs. Thus, I now reside at Merica House I have been a resident here since 1998. I like the location of Merica House. It is very accessible to every thing I like to do and everywhere I loke to go.

Describing myself, I would say that I am a down to earth and uncomplicated guy. I like listening to rhythm and blues and most of the music from the 70's and 80's. I spend a lot of my time learning how to build web pages. My future plans include attending a class for web site building and obtain a job in that field.
